What is website optimisation?
Website Optimisation is the process of enhancing your website to maximise the likelihood of converting visitors into sales. (Or, of course, whatever other metric you deem to be a conversion). This is sometimes known as Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO).
Note that this is different to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). SEO helps you to get more visitors to your website. But if your website can't convert those visitors, then you've wasted time and money. What works for one audience doesn't necessarily work for your target audience. Therefore, you need to make sure that your website is tailored for the right people.
Website Optimisation looks at many factors. For example: What is a conversion for you? Who you are trying to convert? What is their user journey? At what stage of the buyer’s journey are they? What do users experience on your site? Is it easy to navigate? Is it mobile friendly?
