What is Paid Search?
Paid search is sometimes referred to as pay-per-click (PPC). In short, you bid to have your ad placed in the sponsored listings of a search engine results page. Text ads, for example, look like a normal search engine result but are displayed at the top of the page. The big difference, however, is that it begins with the word ‘Ad’.
The most popular payment model is pay-per-click. This is when the advertiser only pays when someone clicks their ad and visits their web page. There are other payment models which is why we refer to it as 'paid search' rather than Pay Per Click.
